one powerful life hack to transform yourself is to dedicate 2-month periods of your life to getting rid of an old part of yourself or adding on a new part of yourself. to get rid of an addiction. to add a positive habit. in in this series we will teach you to master yourself using 2 month intervals.
the idea is that you give yourself 2 months to master a specific habit. if after those two months you havent mastered the habit, then you just give yourself another two months. and you keep doing that until you have the habit under your belt.
if you lose the habit you simply go backwards and work your way through the list again
it should be made clear that if there is a habit in this series that you don't prefer to take on, that is fine. only pursue the habits that you feel are important.
part of how this series works is that you should only take on one habit at a time. You should give yourself a break on everything you can except the habit you are trying to master.
in our lives we have things that we must do. we must go to work. we must take care of our children. go through your life and look at the things that are absolutely must for you to do. and during these two month periods forgive yourself of absolutely everything that you may do wrong or may make a mistake on except for the habit you're trying to change and the things that you must do. aside from taking care of the nitty gritty details of life and aside from the habit that you're trying to change give yourself a break on any mistake that you make. try to focus as much of your life energy as possible at changing one habit at a time. and I mean exactly one habit at a time not two or three or four. do these series in order one at a time. if there's one that you don't like or that you don't want to do that you don't feel like is right for your life then skip it. if there's one that you've already mastered then skip it.
having a daily habit or a daily series of habits is the foundation to structuring your life. first we will begin with the habit of having a habit. and we will achieve this by saying a daily mantra into the mirror.
a mantra is something that we repeat to ourselves to affirm an idea to ourselves. say this mantra into the mirror or into the camera of your smartphone 10 times in a row everyday for 2 months before moving on to the next step. as you go through this series we will add phrases that you can add to the mantra to remind yourself of the habit you are currently working on. when each sequence is completed we go back to our previous mantra and then add on a new piece to our mantra. this new piece is generally one sentence long and reflects our unlocking of the achievement of mastering a habit.
for example: if we did a 2 month sequence where we mastered the habit of practicing basketball every day, we would first add on to our mantra some phrases reminding us of our commitment to play basketball. then after two months when we had mastered the habit of practicing basketball, we would go to our previous mantra and add a short sentence like, "we have mastered the habit of practicing basketball."
the following mantra is our base mantra which will remind us why we are mastering ourselves, and we will say this in front of the mirror every day for 2 months. if after 2 months we have not mastered it as a daily habit we will start over. if there is something that you do not prefer about this mantra, alter it to fit your worldview.

I deserve to give myself a chance everyday. I'm going to make my life about helping other people. I'm going to make a difference in my life.
